Are fighters drawn to speed training because of scoring Thanks Don
Hi Shawn, I think most fighters are drawn to speed because it seems more “sport specific” and is more easily conceptualised.
Whereas ensuring a balance to training underpins greater levels of ultimate performance and robustness.
Scoring in Muay Thai rewards power, not just speed. It’s the effectiveness of the strike that determines the score. Other martial arts may reward speed over effectiveness, but I can’t say that’s the case in Muay Thai.
